Thirteen years ago today—on September 27, 2013—Justin Timberlake did something that blew all our minds: he dropped The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2. Just six months after giving us Part 1, Justin completed one of the most ambitious eras of his career, giving us 11 new tracks—or 13 if you were bumping “Blindness” and “Electric Lady” on the Deluxe Edition—and capping off a legendary double-album project. 💿🎶
Remember the thrill of holding The Complete Experience for the first time? Having both vinyls or CDs side-by-side felt like owning a masterpiece. This era was non-stop energy—from the radio hook of “Take Back the Night” to heavy-hitting collaborations with Drake (“Cabaret”) and JAY-Z (“Murder”), the intensity of “TKO,” the swoon-worthy romance of “Not a Bad Thing” (which instantly became a fan favorite and huge Hot 100 hit), and that iconic, soulful country moment when “Drink You Away” took on a whole new life after his 2015 CMA Awards performance with Chris Stapleton. 🎧🎶
For me personally, this album is tied to one of my absolute favorite JT core memories. I was lucky enough to see The 20/20 Experience World Tour live in Dallas in December 2013, just a few months after 2 of 2 came out. Hearing songs like “Cabaret,” “TKO,” “Not a Bad Thing,” “Take Back the Night,” and “Drink You Away” live—with his incredible band The Tennessee Kids onstage and thousands of fans screaming every single word—is something I’ll never forget! 🎤✨
Thirteen years later, The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2 isn’t just a great album—it’s the second half of a musical journey that defined a whole chapter of our lives as fans.
