Over the weekend (January 17-19, 2025), Louisiana State University’s Tiger Girls captivated audiences at the 2025 UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship with a stunning hip-hop routine to Justin Timberlake’s timeless hit, “Cry Me A River”—my all-time favorite song by JT.

Dressed in chic black pants and white tops paired with black-and-white Nikes, the Tiger Girls sparkled on stage, combining intricate choreography with seamless execution. Their use of white umbrellas as props added an elegant and innovative touch, elevating an already unforgettable routine.

This year, the Tiger Girls placed sixth in the fiercely competitive Division IA – Hip Hop Finals, finishing behind powerhouse teams, including first-place champions UNLV. Although they didn’t reclaim the championship title, the Tiger Girls delivered a performance that solidified their reputation as one of the most dynamic and creative dance teams in the nation.

The LSU Tiger Girls have a long legacy of excellence. They claimed the UDA Hip-Hop Championship in 2022 and made history last year with their viral-winning routine to Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal,” which earned them the national championship title in 2024. Coming into this year’s finals, they were undoubtedly the team to watch.

But LSU wasn’t the only team to incorporate JT’s music into their routines. Washington State University’s Crimson Girls took 7th place with their powerful routine to “SexyBack,” and Temple University’s Diamond Gems landed 10th place with their energetic routine to “Like I Love You.” Justin’s music continues to inspire dancers across the country, and it was exciting to see his tracks bring out the creativity of these teams.
