Quavo has officially dropped his brand-new 14-track project, QRÖMELIFE, executive produced entirely by Pharrell Williams. The album is stacked with an impressive roster of guest features—including Offset, A$AP Rocky, Future, Lil Baby, Yung Miami, T.I., and Tyler, The Creator—but the major highlight for JT fans is track #11, “House Music.”
Stepping away from conventional trap beats, “House Music” is an experimental, club-ready track produced entirely by Pharrell that blends modern hip-hop with a retro-leaning pop and dance energy. Driven by a slick, late-night synth-pop vibe and high-energy club rhythm, the track pairs luxury-rap braggadocio with a polished pop-crossover sheen.
The song’s bouncy, infectious hook hinges on a hypnotic refrain playing on the phrase: “Music you buy houses with, house music.” Over the upbeat rhythm, Justin delivers smooth, silky vocal harmonies and effortless ad-libs that mesh perfectly with Quavo’s melodic delivery.
Justin takes the spotlight on his verse with his signature swagger:
Shake up the room, earthquake
Hop out the booth into the, lake
I got the bedroom made
Silk on the sheets that, us in between that
You can cosign and I’ll keep dining, she my dinner, whole buffet
Body like my private island, you belong right where I lay
Where I’ll play, where I’ll sit, turn this love into a hit
Make me wanna make the music that’s the kinda
(Music you buy houses with, house music)
QRÖMELIFE marks Quavo and Pharrell’s most extensive collaboration to date, recorded in high-profile sessions spanning from the Louis Vuitton headquarters in Paris to a yacht in Miami.
