*NSYNC’s ‘*NSYNC’ 27th Anniversary

Celebrating 27 Years of *NSYNC’s Self-Titled Debut Album!
On March 24, 1998, *NSYNC’s self-titled debut album, *NSYNC, was released in the U.S., launching the careers of Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, and Lance Bass. After already making waves in Europe, the guys—who had formed in the mid-1990s—captured global attention with their infectious harmonies and undeniable charm. Originally released in Germany on May 26, 1997, *NSYNC became an instant hit overseas, but it was in the U.S. where they would truly break through to superstardom.
The album featured iconic tracks like “I Want You Back” and “Tearin’ Up My Heart,” which became essential pop anthems. While the album didn’t immediately explode on the U.S. charts, it wasn’t long before *NSYNC took over. After a landmark performance on a Disney Channel concert special, the album went from modest beginnings to chart-topping success, peaking at #2 on the Billboard 200 and eventually being certified Diamond in the U.S.
Looking back, it’s impossible not to feel nostalgic about the songs that defined this era for fans, and I can’t help but smile thinking about how *NSYNC began my lifelong obsession with the band and their music. I vividly remember buying the CD when it was released in the U.S., and to this day, the tracks still hold a special place in my heart. My personal favorite songs from the album include “Tearin’ Up My Heart,” “(God Must Have Spent) A Little More Time On You,” “I Want You Back,” and “Thinking of You (I Drive Myself Crazy).” Each one is filled with so much energy and emotion, and they continue to take me back to the moments when *NSYNC’s rise to fame took over the world.
This album was the starting point of a legendary career, a constant reminder of the magic these five talented guys created. From their unforgettable choreography to their heartfelt ballads, *NSYNC forever changed the pop music landscape, and as we celebrate the 27th anniversary of this landmark album, let’s remember how far they’ve come and continue to support the incredible legacy of Justin, JC, Chris, Joey, and Lance.
