Alpha Dog (2007)
Alpha Dog is a 2006 American crime drama film written and directed by Nick Cassavetes. It is based on the true story of the kidnapping and murder of Nicholas Markowitz in 2000. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Ben Foster, Shawn Hatosy, Emile Hirsch, Christopher Marquette, Sharon Stone, Justin Timberlake, Anton Yelchin, and Bruce Willis.
SYNOPSIS:
In the San Gabriel Valley, a young drug dealer named Johnny, fueled by a debt owed by Jake, kidnaps Jake’s younger brother, Zack. Johnny’s gang, including his right-hand man Frankie and the indebted Elvis, initially hold Zack hostage to pressure Jake. Despite forming a bond with Frankie and enjoying the gang’s hedonistic lifestyle, Zack’s fate turns tragic when Johnny, fearing legal repercussions, orders his murder. The gang’s plan spirals out of control, leading to Zack’s untimely death and the eventual capture and sentencing of those involved.
