- *NSYNC was formed by Chris Kirkpatrick in Orlando, Florida, in 1995.
- Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez were previously ‘Mouseketeers’ on The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) before joining the group.
- Their debut single, “I Want You Back,” was first released in Germany in 1996, then released in the U.S. in 1997.
- The star in *NSYNC’s name was inspired by a prediction from illusionist Uri Geller, who foresaw a future involving stars or astronomy for the band after a show in London. A year later, the star symbol appeared on their first American album cover.
